eee, congratulations! isn't it fun and exciting?

i got a free kit from 23andme last year (i have a history of crohns and they're doing a study, which i signed up to be part of), and i've been delighted at the results. so much so that i got a bunch of folks to help me also do familytreedna for the holidays last year <3

i know little about my birth father's family that isn't via online records (bmd, land, newspapers, books, etc), but have found a SLEW of distant cousins on that side, including one that indicates that one of my gg grandmothers was related to her husband's stepmother.

i also found descendents of a man i've long suspected was the brother of one of my maternal ggg grandmothers, mary ann jordan brennan. martin jordan was farming the other end of the same lot of land as patrick brennan in 1841, and his eldest daughter was named mary ann. and something just kept pinging me that it wasn't unconnected.

and i match 4 of 5 cousins who descended from martin jordan at the 4th and 5th cousin level!
